Here are a couple of cards I made for Father’s Day using my Cricut machine. I used the Mickey Mouse font cartridge for the text (Happy Father’s Day) and the Paper Pups cartridge for the dog.
Notes & Tips:
- This is a 6″ x 6″ card. I basically folded a 12″ x 12″ standard scrapbook page in half and then cut the page in half to make two cards.
- The font at the top and bottom is 1″ tall (cricut setting)
- The dog in the center is 3″ tall (cricut setting). To create the shadow, I ran out of white paper so I used the backside (white side) of a sheet of regular scrapbook paper that I didn’t care for much. This way, I didn’t have to go to make a special trip to the store to buy more white scrapbook paper.
- To give the dog a 3-d effect, I folded a small rectangle of paper into 5 equal parts and glued the ends together to create a 3-d square. I then hot glued the 3-d square to the dog to the card.
